David and Donna Flowers

South Africa

David Flowers was the Tennessee Home Missions Secretary and his wife, Donna, was the district’s Ladies Auxiliary President when they were appointed to Madagascar in October 1987.  After serving a term in Madagascar, they transferred to Malawi.  Of his work, Brother Flowers stated, “I am a strong believer in training.  I spend most of my time in Bible School work. I also preach in conferences and seminars.  I travel to churches throughout the country preaching and teaching.”

In May 1996 the Foreign Missions Board expanded the Flowers’ appointment to include Mozambique and appointed him the Mozambican field superintendent in 1998.

In 2002, another move was in store for them as they moved to South Africa.  They live in Pretoria where they work with the South Africa Bible Institute.  Bro. Flowers is also Africa's Representative to the Global Association of Theological Studies.

The Flowers have three sons, Philip, John and Andrew.  They all live in Memphis, Tennessee and attend the Pentecostal Church pastored by Terry Black.  Philip is a graduate of Freed Hardeman College. John, with his Master’s degree from Urshan Graduate School of Theology, spent most of two years in South Africa teaching in the South Africa Bible Institute.  Both Philip and John are presently public school teachers in the Memphis area.  Andrew graduated from Gateway College of Evangelism and is very active in the church and with the youth.  He works as an assistant branch manager at First Tennessee Bank.
